What does it cost to host an event at the Ranch?

How many guests can attend?

The Ranch can host upwards of 175 guests per event. There is no additional fee per guest.

Is there a "getting ready" space on site?

Yes, the ranch house can be rented for the day of for an additional $750.

How accessible is the property?

The Ranch is within a two and a half hour radius of four major airports: Sacramento (closest), San Francisco, San Jose, and Reno. While located in a small town, there is ample lodging across Penn Valley, Grass Valley, and Auburn, all within 15-30 minutes of the venue.

Is there a required list of vendors?

While we don't have a required list, we do have preferred vendors who have worked events here already. All photos and videos on this site are from the respective folks below.

Is there parking on site?

Yes, there is parking available, though we encourage guests to carpool as much as possible. There is space for approximately 60 vehicles on site. It's important to note that Uber, Lyft, and cabs are not generally available due to a more rural location, though it is possible to get shuttle service, but that isn't included with the venue.

Is insurance required?

Yes, all parties are required to obtain their own day of liability insurance. Additionally, both the pond and pool are off limits to the party and their guests. Any use of either will result in additional fines from the venue.

What items do you recommend renting?

For weddings, we recommend the following:

-Tables and chairs (chairs can be used for both the ceremony and reception)

-Linens, dinnerware, and glasses

-Dance floor

Is alcohol allowed on site?

Yes, though for liability reasons, we only allow beer and wine. No hard alcohol may be served at the Ranch. Any violations will result in additional fines.

What happens if there's inclement weather?

The barn does offer 2,500 square feet of covered indoor space. If there is rain or other inclement weather, it can be used to host the event, though the exact configuration will depend on the event and number of guests.

Is there any refund available if the event is cancelled?

Given that the Ranch only hosts two events per year, we are unable to accommodate refund requests on cancellation.
